New Tagline – “Seven Fingers Zero Toes”

My new tagline is “Seven Fingers Zero Toes”.  I’ll bet you didn’t know this about me. I was born with seven fingers on my left hand with which I do my clay sculpting and jewelry work. It’s not a big deal, but it is somewhat unique.  So I decided to include it in my tagline.  Maybe you’d wonder and come in and take a closer look.

It presents an issue occasionally. I’ll lose hold of a tool, a bead or jump ring I’m working with. But I’ve lived with it all of my life, I’ve grown accustomed to it.  Also, both of my legs were amputated, one at the age of 9 months, the other at 16 years old.  Hence, the “Zero Toes.”  I’m not trying to get your sympathy, I just want you to know more about me and my jewelry making.

I also have chronic pain. Being introduced to jewelry making by my mother-in-law was one of the best gifts she gave me. When I am meditating about which beads to use and imagining how it will all look together, somehow my pain is reduced. So I now spend as much time as possible creating unique, individualized pieces for you to enjoy.

Welcome to my Shop where my job is to help guide you to the many wonderful choices for jewelry you’ll find there, and how each one might speak to you. When I make a piece I leave an essence of my spirit within it. The sense of awe I find in new lampwork beads or the struggle of putting on a clasp all has me totally engaged and pain-free.  When I’m finished creating a piece, I can sense myself within it. In writing the description I contemplate how I’ve created its uniqueness just for you. You are reflected in my jewelry, the perfect match for your lifestyle. Whether it’s the colors, the texture, the shape, or just the mood I was in, that handcrafted piece of jewelry is an expression my creative spirit coupled with how I see it, in turn, expressing you.
